Featuring over one hundred photographs, including previously unreleased gems, it offers an intimate glimpse into the complex tapestry of Italian life. It juxtaposes haunting images of the Mafia with exquisite portraits of the women and children of Palermo. In a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Battaglia eloquently conveyed that through the dual nature of her work, she aspired “to denounce corruption and to exalt beauty.”
