Jago at MA*GA: When an Artwork Speaks Again

Starting November 15, 2026, MA*GA Museum in Gallarate will host Corpi Esposti, an exhibition dedicated to Jago and curated by Tommaso Zijno, as part of the project L’arte non è mai un’isola. The exhibition brings to the forefront the work of one of Italy’s most recognizable contemporary sculptors, placing his works in dialogue with key figures from the history of Italian art throughout the 20th century and beyond.
The title, Corpi Esposti (“Exposed Bodies”), captures one of the central themes of Jago’s practice: the body as both matter and a space for vulnerability, identity, memory, and emotion. Through the traditional language of sculpture, and particularly through his work with marble, Jago brings the human figure into a deeply contemporary dimension, transforming the perfection of the material into a means of exploring what is ultimately fragile and transitory.

For Drago, the connection with this exhibition begins with an image that takes on a particular significance today. The sculpture featured on the exhibition poster is, in fact, the same sculpture depicted in a limited edition print produced by Drago in 2021. Five years later, the work finds itself back in the spotlight through one of the most significant exhibitions dedicated to the artist.
The coincidence creates a bridge between two different moments: on one side, a print created in 2021; on the other, a 2026 exhibition that has chosen that very sculpture as the key image of its visual communication. The print was not created for the exhibition; rather, it is an edition that now finds a new context and a new opportunity to be rediscovered.
This is also part of what makes visual culture so powerful: certain images continue to live, move across contexts, and acquire new meanings over time. A photograph of an artwork can become a memory, a document, a collectible object — and, years later, find itself relevant once again.

Drago is now making the 2021 limited edition print featuring Jago’s sculpture available again, offering collectors, art lovers, and those who encounter the work through the MA*GA exhibition or its visual campaign the opportunity to own this special edition.
A way to take home not only the image of a sculpture, but also a fragment of the dialogue between art, photography, and publishing — a dialogue that allows an artwork to continue living beyond the museum walls.

Jago’s art comes to MA*GA, where it meets more than a century of Italian art. Starting November 15, the Gallarate museum will host *Corpi Esposti*, one of two chapters of the major exhibition project dedicated to the artist, promoted by the Department of Culture of the Lombardy Region and MA*GA, and curated by Tommaso Zijno.
